Hakimi has decided his future lies in Milan, not in Madrid

Real Madrid has the transfer policy to target the best young talents around the world, which has a lot of potentials to become one of the best players in the world. This helps them to avoid high fees on these types of players.

As Football transfer pre covid-19 period was highly inflated. The players who have not achieved anything big or proved their worth could cost around 100-150 M due to their potential and young age.

Los Blancos has signed players like Vinicius, Rodrygo, Kubo, Asensio, Odegaard, Lunin, Brahim, Ceballos & Vallejo. Not only that they have some home grown talent like Oscar, Fede Valverde, casemiro, Carvajal, Borja Mayoral, Lucas Vazquez, Acharaf Hakimi and the list goes on and on.

Due to the availability of such great talents, Madrid has avoided paying a high transfer fee over the years. Which has helped them to go through Financial blow during the Covid-19 period? We already know how the Barca board is affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They have to sell Arthur Melo with such huge potential and young age to buy a cheaper option Pjanic, no doubt Pjanic is a great player but Arthur was a player for the future. Well, Los Blancos have avoided any such Financial blow.

Real Madrid plans to invest in young players have worked with Acharaf Hakimi. He has become one of the best talents at the full-back position. His numbers speak for itself. As per numbers, he is way better than many full-backs around the world.
Acharaf joined Real Madrid in 2006. He started his career as a Striker later switched to Winger and finally established himself as Full Back.

He is good with his speed, dribbling, perfect crossing, and bonus finishing due to his past of playing as a striker.
He spent the last 2 years at Borussia Dortmund on Loan, while this season he has played 45 games bagging 9 goals and provided 10 assists. While scoring 4 in 8 games in Champions League.

Real Madrid plan to loan out Acharaf to BVB has worked. Due to his performances, he has received interest from the top clubs around Europe. Bayern, Inter Milan, and Dortmund wanted to sign him.
As per the Hakimi agent, Hakimi wanted to return to Madrid and then decide his future. But, Hakimi has already decided his future & it lies in Milan. He has signed for Inter for a fee around 40 M.

He wants to be a starter in the team but at Madrid, Carvajal is the undisputed starter & player of his quality cannot be wasting his talent on the bench. It is true not every player Madrid has signed is going to stay. But it was the plan in the first place to get great players for cheap and help them grow and have a player for years to come.
Hakimi was that player additionally he would have counted as a no-EU player. Real Madrid must have tried to hold on to pearl-like Acharaf. But, in the end, it has to be a player's choice.
It is sad but the reality is Los Blancos has lost a really good full-back and they are forced to go into the market to get another full-back around 40-70 M to get a player who is a decent player at his position or as good as him.

Overall this deal has helped Madrid to make money but that money might end up in the transfer of another player. Let us hope Odriozola is that player, currently at Bayern on loan. Real Madrid is monitoring his progress and will decide on him once the season is over.

Only the future will tell if it was a good or bad decision to let Acharaf leave.
